Speaking during the function, the Chairperson of the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya Mrs. Kristina Wambui Kenyatta-Pratt, urged the institutions to adhere to the set timelines as well as being good stewards of the resources allocated to them and work in cohesion to ensure proper utilization of resources. “I look forwards to timely completion of these projects so that our children with disabilities can use them as they pursue their right to education” she said. The successful institutions will receive the grant in 3(three) tranches to ensure proper standards are kept in the course of construction. Some of the facilities the undertaken by the Fund include dormitories, ablution blocks, classrooms and vocational training centres among others

“Whatever we are doing here today, is within our strategic objectives specifically relating to service delivery and advocacy. We are aiming to have four projects per county, fully accessible and impacting the lives of children with disabilities by the year 2020,” said Mrs. Pratt.
