BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Dr. W. Kristina Kenyatta - Pratt, CBS, EBS
She was appointed as Trustee and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees on 8th January 2002. She is an educationist holding a BSc. and MSc. in Education from Leigh University (USA) and has trained as a Special Needs Education Teacher. She was the first Director of the Special Education Department in the Ministry of Education and was instrumental in the establishment of the Kenya Institute of Special Education in Kasarani. She has served the disability sector in various capacities, locally and internationally for over 30 years.
Hon. P. C. J. O. Nyakiamo, EGH
He was appointed as a Trustee on 15th January, 1985. He is a retired Banker, having headed both Barclays Bank of Kenya and Kenya Commercial Bank. He is the Chairman of the Finance, Administration and Human Resources Committee and sits in the Properties Management Committee as well as the Procurement Committee. He also chairs the Staff Provident Scheme Board of Trustees.
Hon. Senator David Musila, MGH
He was appointed as a Trustee on its inception on 4th October 1980. He is an accomplished Civil Servant having worked through various ranks in the Provincial Administration up to Provincial Commissioner. He is the former Senator of Kitui County. He is the Chairman of the Properties Management Committee and sits in the Finance, Administration and Human Resources Committee as well as the Procurement Committee.
Hon. Prof. Julia Ojiambo, PhD, CBS, EBS
She was appointed as a Trustee on its inception on 4th October 1980. She is an accomplished scholar, former MP of Funyula and a former Assistant Minister in various Ministries. She also possesses a wealth of experience in social work, empowerment of women and research. She is the Chairperson of the Programmes Committee and sits in the Finance, Administration and Human Resources Committee.
Dr. Mike M. Kiswili, PhD, EBS
Dr. Mike M. Kiswili, PhD, EBS was appointed as a Trustee on 17th January, 1995. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants of the UK and Certified Public Accountant (Kenya). He is a senior partner of a leading city audit firm. He is the Chairman of the Procurement Committee and sits in the Finance, Administration and Human Resources Committee as well as the Programmes Committee. He is also a member of the Staff Provident Scheme Board of Trustees
Prof. Francis N. Kibera, CBS
He was appointed as a Trustee on 17th April 2015. He is a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), and Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK). He has extensive administrative and management experience in the public sector particularly in the education and training sub sector. He is the Chairman of the Audit, Risk and Governance Committee and sits in the Finance, Administration and Human Resources Committee as well as the Programmes Committee. He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of the Kenya School of Government (KSG).
CPA Annie Wangare Mugambi, OGW
She was appointed as a Trustee with effect from 30th September, 2019. She is a visionary, dynamic and results-oriented professional with over 20 years’ post qualification experience in education, finance, corporate governance, procurement and administration. She has valuable experience in NGO, government and parastatal financing as well as extensive knowledge of PR Strategy; Resource Mobilization; and, Strategic Planning and Implementation. She has among others worked as a CEO of the Fund and thereafter the International Development Director –Africa for Starkey Hearing Foundation and is currently a director in several companies. She is a member of ICPAK, AWAK and KISM and also an alumni of the Centre for Corporate Governance and Women on Boards Network training on Corporate Governance. She sits in the Properties and Audit, Risk and Governance Committees of the Board.
Mrs. Cecilia Mbaka, OGW
She was appointed as a trustee on 30th September, 2019. She earlier served as an ex-officio member of the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya representing the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. She is a Social Worker by profession, possessing illustrious public service career spanning for more than 25 years. Her record of Public Service shows a committed involvement in national development. She sits in the Programmes Committee and Audit, Risk and Governance Committee.
Mrs. Charity Kiilu-Mutua
She is an ex-officio member of the Board at the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya representing the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. She has been working with the National Government since 1994 when she joined the Public service and has served in different stations across the country. Her field of practice has seen her coordinate and supervise social development programmes which include; community mobilization & development; Older persons, women, youth and persons with disability programmes; social assistance and family promotion and protection programmes. Currently she serves as the secretary of the Association of Community Development Practitioners in Kenya (ACDPK) where she is also one of the founder Members.
