National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya engages various stakeholders in raising awareness on disability issues in line with the UN International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). We also carry out advocacy initiatives with a view of bringing changes in legislation, policy making and also shaping public perception on disability. The implementation of this program is handled through the Programmes department under the Advocacy, Publicity and Fundraising section.

The Fund advocates for inclusive and accessible environment which will ensure the needs of PWDs are met. This is done in realization that disability is as a result of interaction between persons with disabilities and attitudinal and environmental barriers that hinder full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.

Most of our advocacy initiatives are implemented through partnerships with various organizations/ stakeholders in the disability fraternity.

Some of the advocacy activities that NFDK engages with our partners are highlighted in the calendar of events.
